Revolution Church

Some of our team went to Revolution Church in Canton, GA today. We are trying to visit churches at different stages in the journey and learn from them. Below are some highlights from our visit:
  • They are three and a half years old and have over 800 people attending.

  • They have the best portable set up worship environment that I have seen.
  • I listened to Passion: God of ths City on the way up there and it made me want to run through a wall. It is an incredible CD.

  • They meet in a movie theater that has over 600 seats in it. God has provided them a great venue to meet in.

  • Gary is the real deal. He is one of the funniest preachers I have ever heard.

  • He is a great example of fitting your culture. He does a great job of connecting with people in North Georgia.

  • Also, you can tell he loves Jesus.

  • I heard him say that they don't use a lot of pipe and drape (what most use to cover stuff) to cover things because whatever you do people are still going to know it is a movie theater. I think that is good advice.

  • Side note: Elevation Church keeps those pipe and drape people in business. They use it all over the school.

  • My kids loved the idea of going to church at the movies and they enjoyed it there.

  • After going today, it makes me want to meet in a movie theater.

  • Even though they don't use pipe and drape, they do have signs everywhere so you know where you are going even if you don't ask anyone.

  • Preston (Connections Pastor) gave us a tour. They have church planters come there just about every week.

  • Preston said over 70% of their people haven't been to church in at least 5 years before coming to Revolution. That is awesome! They are truly reaching people far from God.
