Here are some random thoughts for Friday!
- This Sunday is week 2 of our Chase The Lion series at Elevate. The topic will be Facing Fears. It is by far the number one reason why many people don't chase God-sized dreams. Don't miss it! It will be an incredible day!
- I am excited out of mind about our Lion Chasers Group that starts next Friday! You can find our more details here. Don't miss this great opportunity!
- My blogging has been a little sporadic while on vacation. I have been taking a much needed break.
- Every leader in ministry must read Leading On Empty by Wayne Cordeiro. It is a great challenge.
- I helped my dad run a youth basketball camp all of this week. It was a lot of fun! Naomi, Elijah, and several of their cousins were in the camp as well. The local newspaper came to do an article on the camp and they put a gallery of pics on their website.
- I put the following statement on my Twitter and it seemed to resonate with a lot of people: As a follower of Jesus it is my job to LOVE people and God's job to CHANGE people. Too often we get these two mixed up.
- I spent time with Radiant Church in Greenville earlier this week. They are launching in September. I love church planters!
- I started reading In A Pit with A Lion on a Snowy Day again for our Chase The Lion series and the Lion Chasers group. Here is a quote I read yesterday while reading thru the book: "Maybe it's time to stop creating God in YOUR image and let God create you in HIS image." Wow, great thought!
- I watched the end of the Michael Jackson Memorial. There was a powerful line in the closing prayer - "The King of Pop will now bow his knee to the King of Kings."
- That truth is declared in Philippians 2:5-11.
- I head back to San Diego Saturday evening. It is always bitter sweet. I will miss my family and friends in SC. At the same time, I am ready to get back to what God has called me to do. We are cranking things up over the next several months. As a church we are never called to retreat but to constantly advance God's kingdom.
